ADA, Mich, August 18, 2022 – Local entrepreneur-led health and wellness company Amway today announced the outcome of their four-day employee volunteer event: Amway Cares. On August 9-12, more than 400 Ada-based employees served 17 non-profit organizations throughout Kent County making this the company’s largest local volunteer event since the COVID-19 pandemic. Clocking more than 2,700 volunteer hours, employees supported 24 projects including outdoor yard maintenance, assembling a playground and packing meals for distribution.
The majority of volunteers came from Amway’s Ada-based manufacturing facilities. Employees from all three manufacturing shifts were given the option to serve the community together during the Amway Cares event – a unique opportunity that Amway Chief Supply Chain Officer Brian Kraus takes great pride in supporting.
“One of the traits that has always made Amway shine is our commitment to those around us,” said Kraus. “The Amway Cares volunteer experience gave us the chance to re-energize our employees and get back to the company’s community-focused roots. This is the best of Amway.”
Amway Cares is just one example of Amway’s volunteer efforts this summer. Hundreds of additional employees have served the community at some of the very same non-profits and more.
“At Amway, we are committed to investing in West Michigan and partnering with local organizations to help build healthy communities that empower people,” said Amway Corporate Social Responsibility Supervisor Latricia Trice. “We’re grateful to have such passionate employees who are dedicated to serving and making a positive difference.”
In addition to the Amway Cares event, more than 300 Amway employees have served at a variety of volunteer projects this summer. That number will continue to grow as employees continue to serve the local community through the rest of the year.
