ADA, Mich, August 10, 2023 – Local entrepreneur-led health and wellness company Amway today announced the outcome of their second annual Amway Cares employee volunteer event. On August 1 and 3, more than 600 Ada-based employees clocked nearly 3,800 volunteer hours from serving 28 non-profit organizations across Kent County as part of Amway’s Service Week initiative. Volunteers supported 41 projects including yard and nature trail clean-up, food preparation and packaging, and workplace organization and maintenance.
Volunteers from Amway also teamed up with Streams of Hope to build a kid-designed, community-built playground in the Townline area of southern Kent County. This is part of a nationwide effort led by KaBOOM! to end play space inequity and provide an outlet for community kids to enjoy the outdoors and develop healthy habits.
“Amway strives to make a positive impact in every market where we do business,” said Will Templeton, Director of Amway Brand, CSR and Content Production. “Amway Cares reinforces our commitment to community and the passions of our employees.”
Amway’s Nutrilite campus in Buena Park, California hosted a second Amway Cares event on August 8 and 9, supporting six non-profit organizations across Orange County, completing 588 hours of volunteer services.
Amway Cares is just one example of Amway’s volunteer efforts this summer. Hundreds of additional employees have served the community at some of the very same non-profits and more. Employees will have the opportunity to continue serving the community with additional volunteer projects through the remainder of the year.
