How We Collect or Receive Personal Data from You When you Visit the Website
Amway collects personal data from you through your use of the Website in various ways.
You may choose to submit your personal data and other information to us through various communication channels provided on the “Contact Us” webpage of the Website, for example, Amway e-mail addresses, delivery and mailing address, telephone numbers or online forms, such as “The Story” for Amway Labs.
Where we ask you to provide us with your personal data, we will indicate whether providing the personal data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into and/or facilitating a contract, as well as whether you are obliged to provide the personal data and of the possible consequences of a failure to provide the personal data.
We also use cookies or similar technologies that collect certain Website usage information when you access, view and use the Website. A cookie is a data file placed on a computer or mobile device when it is used to visit websites. We do not enable third parties to place cookies on your device. Amway collects and receives personal data from its Customers in various ways.
We collect personal data from you when you register as a Customer on our websites. You may also choose to submit your personal data and other information to us through various communication channels provided on the “Contact Us” webpage of our websites, for example, Amway e-mail addresses, telephone numbers or online forms.
The Types of Personal Data We Collect From Customers
Registration: If you are registering as a Customer directly with Amway, we may collect the following personal data from you:
- Contact information (e.g., name, postal or e-mail address, and phone number);
- Date of birth;
- Login Information incl. Username, Amway ID and Password; and
- Payment information (e.g., bank account or credit card numbers);
- Product preferences, purchasing habits, purchasing history and spending behaviour;
- Information about calls you make to our call centers (e.g., a recording of the call); and
- Communication preferences.
Logged in as Customer: If you are logged in on the Website we also use cookies or similar technologies that collect certain Website usage information when you access, view and use the Website data (see above under “How We Collect or Receive Personal Data from You When you Visit the Website”).
Contacting us: In addition, when you communicate with us through various communications channels, we collect your contact details, such as your name, email address, address, and telephone number. You may also voluntarily provide other data that is related to you in connection with your inquiries or comments. We encourage you, however, to provide no more personal data relating to you than is necessary in order for us to provide an appropriate response to your inquiries or comments.
Amway affiliates: We may also receive personal data from affiliates of Amway.
We may collect other types of personal data in exceptional circumstances only. If we do need to process additional types of personal data about you, we will make sure that you are informed about the processing of your personal data and that there is a valid legal basis for doing so (e.g. your consent).
How We Process the Personal Data We Collect From Customers
We only process your personal data to the extent it is necessary (i) for the performance of your agreement with us or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into an agreement with us; (ii) to comply with our legal obligations; (iii) for the purpose of our legitimate interests, including operating, evaluating and improving our business; (iv) preventing and protecting us and others against fraud, unauthorized transactions, claims and other liabilities; (v) ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards; and (vi) for purposes allowed under local laws including the Hong Kong Personal Data Privacy Ordinance (“PDPO”) and its applicable versions. For companies like Amway that have global business operations, processing business partners’ personal data for internal administrative purposes is typically also considered a legitimate interest. As required under law, we have carefully balanced our legitimate business interests against your data protection rights.
In particular, we process the personal data we obtain about you to:
- Manage your registration as a Customer;
- Create and manage your online account;
- Address your comments or inquiries
- Process your orders of products or services;
- Communicate with you;
- Bring you in contact with your ABOs (including providing your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address, purchases and purchasing history to your ABO);
- Operate, evaluate and improve our services and facilitate your use of our websites;
- Perform accounting, auditing, billing and collection activities; and
- Comply with applicable legal requirements, industry standards and our policies.
How We Share Personal Data
Amway does not sell, rent or trade your personal data. Amway does share your personal data with:
- Entities within the Amway group to whom it is reasonably necessary or desirable for Amway to disclose personal data;
- ABOs, to allow communication regarding products, services and orders relating to the Amway Business;
- Providers of Infrastructure- or Platform- or Software-as-a-Service solutions, software development services, information system maintenance services, record management services or marketing services within, or outside of Hong Kong or your local market; and
- Government authorities or other third parties, if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the rights, legal interests, property or safety of others or ourselves.
International Data Transfers
We transfer the personal data we collect about you to entities within the Amway group, including Amway’s mother company Alticor Inc. Some of them may be located in countries other than the country in which the data were originally collected. We transfer the personal data we collect about you to third-party service providers that may be located outside of the country in which the data were originally collected, and process personal data on our or Amway group entities’ behalf.
The laws of those countries may not have the same level of data protection as the country in which you initially provided the data. When we transfer your personal data to other countries, we will protect that data as described in this Privacy Notice and in accordance with applicable law.

This Privacy Notice describes how Amway Hong Kong Limited of 15th Floor, Oxford House, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong(hereinafter “Amway” or “we”) uses personal data collected or received from Amway Business Owners and Privileged Customers (“ABOs”) (hereinafter “you”). It describes how we collect or receive your personal data, the types of personal data we process, how we use, share and protect these data, how long we retain these data, your rights with respect to the processing of your personal data, and how you can contact us about our privacy practices. We are committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of the personal information we hold by complying with the requirements of Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance with respect to the management of personal information.
How We Collect and Receive Personal Data from You
Registration. Amway collects your personal data through the registration form that you complete and send to us in paper form or electronically through the applicable. Amway, or its affiliates, website or application (the “Website”) in order to become an ABO.
Logged in as ABO. If you are logged in on the Website as an ABO we collect personal data that you provide to us while using the Website, for example, when you order products or services.
Contacting Us.You may also choose to submit your personal data and other information to us through various communication channels such as via email to ahkinfo@amway.com or by submit the “Changes to Current Status of Distributorship/Privileged Customer” application form. If you contact the Amway Customer Service Hotline, we will record the call.
Cookies. If you are logged in on the Website, we also use cookies or similar technologies that collect certain Website usage information when you access, view and use the Website. - ABO organizational information (e.g., ABO company name, profession and ownership and management details);
- Gender, age, nationality, date and country of birth;
- Marital Status
- ABO registration number, username and password;
- Passport details (including holder’s name, number, issue location ) and National ID/HKID number to the extent permitted or required by applicable law;
- Payment information (e.g., such as bank account or credit card numbers);
- ABO performance information (e.g., class, status, group and personal qualifications under the Amway Sales and Marketing Plan and financial/bonus history);
- Information about calls you make to our call centers (e.g., a recording of the call);
- Product preferences, purchasing habits, purchasing history and spending behaviour; and
- Communication preferences.
We may process other personal data in exceptional circumstances only. If we need to process other types of personal data about you not set forth above, we will make sure that you are informed about the processing of your personal data and that there is a valid legal basis for doing so (e.g. your consent).

- Provide your contact information, business identification information and business performance information to upline ABOs, and contact information to downline ABOs;
- Perform accounting, auditing, billing and collection activities;
- Enforce contractual terms and conditions;
- Protect against and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, claims and other liabilities; and
- Comply with applicable legal requirements, industry standards and our policies.
How We Share Personal Data

Alticor Inc. (“Amway”) has adopted this Privacy Notice in order to inform you of its policies and practices with respect to information collected from the Atmosphere Connect app (“SKY”). Your use of SKY constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Notice and your consent to the practices it describes. This Privacy Notice applies only to information gathered on and through SKY and does not apply to any other information or websites not owned or operated by Amway. Please review this Privacy Notice periodically as we may update it from time to time, but any future changes will not affect data that was collected under a previous version of this Privacy Notice. Each time you use SKY, or provide us with information, you are, by doing so, accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice at that time. Amway complies with all applicable laws regarding data breaches..
We value your privacy and, unless otherwise stated in this Privacy Notice, will not sell or share your personal information with third parties without your consent. This Privacy Notice further describes our data collection and use policies.
Data we collect:
- Personal information that you provide while setting up your account.
- We do not display any of your information to other users.
- Non-personally identifiable technical data and related information, including but not limited to technical information about your device, system and application software, and peripherals.
- Real-time information about the location of your device.
We use and disclose the information we collect for the following purposes:
- The personal information that you provide will be used only to create and maintain your account and provide personalized content and information via SKY.
- Contact information is used to send you notifications.
- Aggregate, non-personally identifiable information may be used to help us understand SKY’s users and their preferences, to help us improve SKY and our products and services, and to market our products and services.
- Aggregate, non-personally identifiable information may be shared with third parties who may help us to improve our products and services and market our products and services generally.
- To protect our business interests or the rights of others, when required by law, to cooperate with law enforcement, or in connection with the sale or merger of all or part of our business.
- To create and maintain your account.
- Location data is used to provide certain location based information, including, without limitation, air quality and weather information.
Third parties:
- Data that could identify you. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is data that includes a personal identifier like your name, email address, or data that could reasonably be linked back to you. We will only share this data under the following circumstances:
- With companies that are contractually engaged in providing us with services, such as data storage, order fulfillment, email management and credit card processing. These companies are obligated by contract to safeguard any PII they receive from us.
- If we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, valid legal process (e.g., subpoenas or warrants served on us), or governmental or regulatory request, to enforce or apply the End User License Agreement, to protect the security or integrity of SKY, and/or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Amway, its employees, users, or others. If we are going to release your data, we will do our best to provide you with notice in advance by email, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so.
- We may disclose or transfer your PII in connection with the sale, merger, bankruptcy, sale of assets or reorganization of our company. We will notify you if a different company will receive your PII and the promises in this Privacy Notice will apply to your data as transferred to the new entity.
- We do not share or sell aggregated, de-identified data that does not identify you (de-identified data) to any third parties.
- Data that you direct us to share. You can direct us to share data with other parties. For example, you might authorize us to link your account with a third-party app; send status updates to your Facebook or Twitter account; or direct us to share data with your employer as part of a wellness program. Once you direct us to share your data with a third party, that data is governed by the third-party’s privacy policy. You can revoke your consent to share with the third party at any time in your SKY account settings.
Where your information is stored and encryption:
- Your data is stored both on your device and outside the device through a third party.
- When your data is stored on your device, it is protected through the encryption (if any) that is already available on your device. This means that if somebody is able to access your device, they will also be able to access your data.
- When data is sent from your device to our third-party data storage provider, it is transmitted via encrypted channel and also encrypted when stored with our service provider.
- Your data will be stored and processed in USA.
How you may opt out of our use, storage, and/or sharing of data:
- Successful use of SKY relies on the data storage, use, and/or sharing terms above. Therefore, if you do not agree to the terms above you should stop using SKY and delete the app.
- Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may opt out of sharing your location data by changing the settings on your device to no longer share your location information with SKY. Note, however, that opting out of the SKY’s collection of location information will cause its location-based features to be disabled.
How SKY access other data:
- SKY may request your permission to connect to your device’s camera and photos. You can check your settings, including permissions set as a default, by reviewing SKY’s permissions in the “Settings” app on iOS devices and by going to “Settings” and then “Apps” in Android devices.
Our data retention policy:
- We store your PII for as long as you maintain a SKY account
Your data after disabling of your account:
- When your account is deactivated or terminated by you or us, your data is deleted after seven years.
